A BRIEF HISTORY

Tracing the Perbi family four generations back will land one in the cool, lush mountainous town of Mampong, Akuapem in the Eastern Region of Ghana. A goldsmith and bar-owner, Robert Kofi Perbi, and his farmer wife, Florence Asamoabea, had seven children between them. This Perbi Family Foundation follows the lineage of their second child and first son, Reindorf Baah Perbi, the chartered accountant and management consultant par excellence who would eventually marry from the other Mampong (in the Ashanti Region of Ghana),  Akosua Adoma Nketia, the first child of the celebrated ethnomusicologist  Emeritus Professor J.H. Kwabena Nketia, at the University of Ghana in 1977.

Akosua would end up as a professor of history at the same university and between them have four (4) children–two boys and two girls: Dr. Yaw Perbi (The HuD Group, Kwiverr, Lausanne Movement, Perbi Executive), Mrs. Amma Eleblu (PriceWaterhouseCoopers), Adwoa Konadu Perbi (Gates Foundation) and Nana Nketia Perbi (Stanbic Bank Ghana). RB and Akosua have 11 grandchildren.
