Honouring the memory of a family friend being buried today.

Such a beautiful soul and spirit, Althea Koryo Azu. And body (1981-2026).
We were three families that growing up as cubs hang out each Christmas. To sup. So we creatively christened our annual gatherings SAP, an acronym using the first letters of our various family names: Sefa-Azu-Perbi. The Sefa-Dedehs were three cubs; the Perbis were four, and the mighty Azus combined our numbers to eventually become seven! Now, one is gone. Koryo—gone with the wind.
Such a joyful being that lived with such zest! For years we hadn’t met until my favourite of the seven reconnected us when both of us happened to be in Accra (Althea has been USA-based for decades) and we had a sumptuous Ethiopian buffet—we three kwings—at the airport residential area.
Then just like that. Koryo. Sublimed.
Rest well. Enjoy the Jesus you loved feeli feeli. Eventually we all will too. “Some glad morning when this life is over” and we all also “fly away.” Or He returns and we get caught up with Him in the air. Koryo, thus we shall be with our Lord and Lover forever. And ever.
